Risk and Compliance Analyst - Regulatory (VA493)

We are seeking a Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will work as part of the Risk and Compliance team to assist the law firm and its regulated business in meeting their obligations under AML/CFT and regulatory legislation and rules including monitoring; assisting with projects and the provision of Management Information for all entities. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Compliance Senior Manager and provide support to the Head of Risk & Compliance as required. 

Key duties include but are not limited to:

• Active participation in Compliance themed projects
• Undertake Compliance Monitoring in respect of both the legal practice and fiduciary subsidiary
• Facilitate the provision of Management Information in relation to Risk & Compliance and AML/CFT business as usual requirements for the Head of Risk & Compliance
  
• Undertake independent data searches/EDD searches as and when requested
• Support a positive working relationship between the Risk & Compliance Team and business units through regular and effective communication
• Assist with the updating of existing systems and controls, policies and procedures in line with changes in legislation
• Undertake ad-hoc searches as and when required on behalf of the MLCO/MLRO
• Identify sanction screening results and act upon results as applicable
• Undertake periodic reviews of client / matter files
  

  
  

Experience and qualifications:

• Experience in a Risk & Compliance or Financial Crime Prevention role is desirable though not essential as full training will be provided
• Have good knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  
• Working towards or is ICA qualified at Diploma level, or equivalent, desirable but not essential
