Compliance Administrator (VA501)

We are looking for a Compliance Administrator to join our Singapore office in order to implement a multi-jurisdictional compliance framework in Carey Olsen's Singapore and Hong Kong offices.
Principal Duties:
Responsible for the on-boarding process of clients both in Singapore and Hong Kong, which involves:
- Liaising with clients to obtain KYC documents, where necessary
- Managing various internal stakeholders such as compliance administrators, secretaries, fee earners and partners across various Carey Olsen jurisdictions
- Obtaining relevant sign-offs on required customer due diligence documentation and completion of on-boarding process
- Ensuring that client data is properly inserted into relevant customer management system for record and continuous monitoring
- Assist in rolling out and conduct ad hoc or scheduled training session. Monitoring the completion of training sessions roll-out by Group
- Assisting to conduct the Compliance Monitoring Program both for Hong Kong and Singapore on a quarterly basis
- Help ensure that Singapore / Hong Kong employees abide by their regulatory obligations and conform to industry best practice and professional standards
- Identify and recommend changes to processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulation and guidance, including both local requirements as well as changes in all jurisdictions relevant to the Singapore and Hong Kong practices (Cayman Islands, BVI, Bermuda, Jersey and Guernsey)
- Ensure that fee earners complete the matter opening process appropriately and provide analysis as to the substantive risk posed by various types of transactions and clients
- Collation of relevant documentation to verify the identity of clients of Carey Olsen, including liaising with clients where appropriate
- Spot risks and pursue policies and procedures that bring such exposures to levels as deemed acceptable and make recommendations
- Act as a point of contact for compliance queries from fee earners and support staff
- Ad-hoc risks and compliance projects as required
Experience & Personal Profile:
- Have between 2-3 years compliance experience especially in areas of AML/CFT and general on-boarding processes
- Experience in a legal or financial setting not essential but desirable
- Chinese (Mandarin) and Cantonese desirable but not essential
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements affecting a law firm in Singapore/ Hong Kong (Understanding corporate/trust company business would also be beneficial)
- Good knowledge and understanding of various company, trust and partnership structures and AML/CDD requirements
- Working knowledge of AML/CFT legislation
- Good knowledge of data management systems and Microsoft applications
