Kate Lan to speak at the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) Asia Pacific Legal Congress

Carey Olsen Singapore counsel Kate Lan will be speaking at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) panel on 'Managing Disputes II: From Award to Enforcement'.

The panel features speakers from the SIAC Secretariat and Strategy and Development teams and leading arbitration practitioners with extensive experience.

The panel will discuss how to take an award from issuance to enforcement and recovery both in and out of court. Panellists will share aspects of enforcement proceedings in national courts and practical strategies for identifying and recovering assets of an award debtor. The panel will also consider winding-up and insolvency as an option and the role of arbitration in Singapore under the soon-to-be launched SIAC Restructuring and Insolvency Arbitration Protocol.

The SCCA (Singapore Corporate Counsel Association) is the pioneer national organisation representing the interests of in-house lawyers working for companies and other entities based in Singapore.

Kate is an appointed arbitrator by the SIAC and a member of SIAC’s Reserve Panel of Arbitrators. She is also the first offshore lawyer selected to serve as one of the three Regional Leads for APAC on the Young Singapore International Arbitration Centre (YSIAC) Council and the only Regional Lead based in Singapore.
