Carey Olsen's Bernadette Carey to speak at major international conference
Carey Olsen Cayman Islands partner Bernadette Carey has been invited to join an upcoming panel discussion at The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law's (TIAETL) conference in Austria.
This year marks the 46th annual TIAETL members meeting, and Bernadette will be speaking about trust powers alongside other academy members from England, the United States, Australia and Liechtenstein.
Bernadette was recently elected to TIAETL making her one of only three Cayman Islands private practice lawyers in the roster. She will be joined at the conference by fellow TIAETL member and Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited partner Keith Robinson, who has been a member of the organisation since 2016 and is the only Bermuda member in private practice.
TIAETL membership is highly selective as all members must have practiced law in the academy's areas of interest for at least ten years and must have distinguished themselves in the trust industry through lecturing, writing or participating in professional organisations.
Bernadette commented: "It is a privilege to be asked to speak at the upcoming TIAETL conference, especially as a representative of both the Cayman Islands and Carey Olsen. The President Elect of the academy has put together an insightful and interesting programme of speakers, panel discussions and events and I am looking forward to promoting the Cayman Islands as a jurisdiction of choice in the trusts and private wealth space."
Bernadette's election to TIAETL brings Carey Olsen's total number of members to three, including Carey Olsen Bermuda partner Keith Robinson and Guernsey managing partner Russell Clark. The firm has more elected members than any other offshore law firm.
The conference will be held at the Hotel Imperial in Vienna, Austria from 21 – 25 May.
