Carey Olsen advises Checkout.com on US$450 million Series C fundraising
Lawyers from Carey Olsen's corporate team in Jersey have advised Checkout.com, a leading global payment solutions provider, on its US$450 million Series C fundraising round.
The transaction gives the company a post-money valuation of US$15 billion, making Checkout.com the fourth largest fintech globally and the EMEA's most valuable venture-backed business.
The Series C was led by Tiger Global Management, LLC, a New York-based technology investor that partners with dynamic entrepreneurs operating market-leading growth companies. Greenoaks Capital also joined the round, along with existing investors Insight Partners, DST Global, Coatue Management, Blossom Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, and Singapore's Sovereign Wealth Fund GIC.
Working alongside lead US counsel Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and UK counsel Macfarlanes LLP, the Carey Olsen team advising Checkout.com on all Jersey law aspects of the fundraising was led by corporate partner James Willmott, working with fellow partner David Taylor and associate Steven Khan.
