Carey Olsen partners featured on China Business Law Journal's 2020 A-List
China Business Law Journal has included Carey Olsen partners Anthony McKenzie and Michael Padarin on its 2020 A-List of elite private practice lawyers advising on China-related business.
The prestigious annual A-List, which identifies the top 100 PRC firm lawyers and 100 foreign firm lawyers operating within China's legal industry, is based on extensive research conducted by China Business Law Journal. To identify the leading individuals, researchers invite thousands of in-house counsel and China-focused lawyers at both PRC and international law firms to nominate those they consider to be the top private practice lawyers for the Chinese market.
Anthony, who is managing partner of Carey Olsen's Singapore office, has a broad range of experience in corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, preference share issues, IPOs and capital markets transactions. He also has significant experience in advising clients on the structuring, formation and maintenance of regulated and unregulated investment funds in the Cayman Islands.
Michael, who is managing partner of Carey Olsen's Hong Kong SAR office, specialises in the formation, operation and restructuring of private investment funds, primarily private equity and venture capital funds, and their related fund sponsor vehicles. He also represents early and later stage companies in a range of industries, including fintech, life sciences and technology, in relation to private financings, listings, cross-border investments and other M&A transactions.
Both advise on Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda law.
Commenting on their A List recognition, Anthony and Michael said: "It is an honour to be recognised on the A-List by China Business Law Journal. Providing a high level of client service is at the heart of what we do at Carey Olsen so to be acknowledged as a result of research conducted with in-house counsels and China-focused lawyers at PRC and international law firms is extremely pleasing.
"Individual recognition like this is also only possible because we are part of fabulous corporate teams not only in Singapore and Hong Kong but across the global Carey Olsen group."
Carey Olsen has had a presence in Asia since launching a Singapore office in 2015, which was then followed by the Hong Kong opening in 2016. The firm now employs more than 20 fee earners across both offices, including having the largest offshore litigation team in Singapore.
