Carey Olsen's Susie Tindall becomes a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners
Carey Olsen Services Bermuda Limited (Carey Olsen Services) chief governance and operations officer Susie Tindall has been accepted as a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP).
The rigorous application process considers a range of eligibility criteria, including employment history, academic and professional applications, awards and achievement but also the requirement to demonstrate experience in various governance matters such as overseeing audit and risk management frameworks, board member development and training, and governance structures and processes.
Founded in 2010, the ACGP is the go-to professional body focused on supporting governance practitioners, governance consultants and board members who have a responsibility for corporate governance.
"The recognition by my peers of my governance experience is of course gratifying, and I am proud to be able to put that experience to good use on behalf of our clients," said Susie.
"This designation reinforces our philosophy at Carey Olsen Services that governance is more than just compliance. Yes, on a daily basis we provide advice and assistance to various boards of directors on all aspects of corporate governance, company secretarial and regulatory compliance matters affecting companies, directors, shareholders and other stakeholders. However, it is also fundamental to us that we promote the development of good governance principles and practice by investing in our team, making certain they understand that in order to govern an organisation well, you need to be able to do more than just ensure that you 'stick to the rules'."
Carey Olsen Services managing director Michael Frith added: "Susie's designation as a Fellow shows that Carey Olsen and its professionals are at the forefront of promoting the highest governance standards. It demonstrates a commitment to applying those standards on behalf of our clients in practical scenarios, and that our professionals are recognised by their peers for the high standards that they promote.
"It also encourages the development of good governance principles and practice among the team as a whole, by investing in their education and support and ensuring they are provided with the necessary tools and resources required to develop a deeper understanding of corporate governance. This results in a superior service being provided to our clients."
