De La Salle crowned winners of Brazilian Soccer Schools' beach soccer cup
Brazilian Soccer Schools Jersey ("BSS Jersey") held the final match of its inaugural interschool beach soccer tournament last week, with De La Salle College being crowned the winner.
The tournament ran between May and July, with players from eight local primary schools competing for the beach soccer cup. The final saw De La Salle play St Peter's School, with De La Salle winning a penalty shoot-out after the two schools drew 4-4.
Global head of BSS Jersey, William Partington, said: "Our first beach soccer cup was a fantastic experience and a huge success, with schools from across the island excited to get involved and compete for the trophy prize. A big congratulations to our winners from De La Salle and to our runners-up from St Peter's – each team played incredibly well and should be immensely proud of what they have achieved."
Carey Olsen Jersey has been a long-standing sponsor of BSS Jersey. Jersey partner, Robin Smith, commented: "It was wonderful to see students from schools across Jersey take part in beach soccer for the first time. BSS Jersey is constantly growing and evolving, and we look forward to seeing what is in store for it next."
