Jeremy is head of the litigation, dispute resolution and insolvency practice in Hong Kong. His practice is focused on high value and complex commercial and corporate litigation as well as insolvency and restructuring matters under the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

Career

Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Jeremy was based in the British Virgin Islands with another offshore law firm before relocating in 2017 to lead their litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in Hong Kong.

Before moving offshore, Jeremy practised for a decade as a barrister at a leading chambers in London where he was noted in Legal 500 as being 'a brilliant blend of legal and commercial acumen'.

He graduated from New College, Oxford and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2006 (currently not practising). He was admitted as a barrister of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) in 2016 and is enrolled as a registered associate in Bermuda.

Jeremy is a member of the Hong Kong ICPA Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty, the International Bar Association, INSOL, IWIRC, the Chancery Bar Association (Overseas Member) and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. He is listed in Who's Who Legal as a Future Leader for Commercial Litigation.

Acting as lead partner for the majority shareholder in a complex dispute with the minority shareholder regarding control of a Cayman incorporated company with a valuation of US$40 billion, with proceedings in 3 jurisdictions.
Acting for the key shareholder in a high value (US$300m+) and high profile shareholder dispute concerning a Cayman Islands registered company which was listed in Hong Kong, and involved some of the largest allegations of fraud every made in respect of a HKEX company.
Acting as Cayman Islands and BVI counsel for the former majority owner of a listed company in multi-jurisdictional liquidation.

Representing a private client in complex fraud proceedings in the Cayman Islands.
Acting as Cayman Islands and BVI counsel for an ultra-high-net-worth individual in several investment funds and shareholder disputes involving US$1 billion worth of assets.
