Carey Olsen advises Hand Picked Hotels on latest Channel Islands acquisitions
A cross-practice team from Carey Olsen has advised Hand Picked Hotels on its latest hotels acquisition in the Channel Islands, which includes the Fermain Valley and Ziggurat hotels in Guernsey and the Braye Beach Hotel in Alderney.
Fermain Valley Hotel is an established resort hotel in St Peter Port with 49 bedrooms, including four treehouse suites, a swimming pool, private cinema and three restaurants. Ziggurat is a boutique hotel with 14 bedrooms located in the heart of St Peter Port, while the Braye Beach Hotel is the only four-star property in Alderney and features 27 bedrooms and several restaurants and bars.
The purchases take Hand Picked Hotels' portfolio to 22 hotels across the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands.
The Carey Olsen team advised on all aspects of the acquisition that included deal-critical competition elements as well as the provision of specialist hotel and leisure sector advice. The transaction was led by partners Jason Morgan (property), Elaine Gray (employment) and Tony Lane (corporate). They were supported by senior associate Arya Hashemi (corporate), associate Kieran Ogilvie (property) and senior conveyancer Shelly Scott (property).
Jason said: "The purchases reflect our client's continued confidence in Guernsey, Alderney and the Channel Islands as a whole, as a tourist destination, and we were delighted to support them on the continued expansion of their hotel portfolio. Our role as lead advisers further enhances our reputation for delivering smooth cross-practice advice on bespoke business acquisitions such as this."
