Holly d'Anger named an emerging leader for diversity, equity & inclusion
Carey Olsen senior listing analyst Holly d'Anger has been recognised in the Fund Finance Association's (FFA) 2022 European Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Emerging Leaders list.
The FFA launched its inaugural DEI initiative in 2021 and Holly is one of the first two European individuals to be featured. The initiative recognises and commends individuals in the fund finance industry for their outstanding contributions to furthering DEI efforts in the market, their workplace and the broader community.
Holly, who has been with the firm since 2016, has played an instrumental role in the London office's diversity, equity and inclusion programme, which brings diverse talent into Carey Olsen, improves accessibility to the field of law and paves the way for a more inclusive future by creating opportunities for higher education students in minority groups.
For example, Holly played a key role in the firm partnering with 10000BlackInterns, a UK programme that has set out to provide 10,000 internships across 24 sectors for young black people in the community. As part of this partnership, two aspiring lawyers will undertake a six-week internship at Carey Olsen this summer.
Holly said: "I am incredibly humbled to have been recognised by the FFA as a DEI Emerging Leader. There is huge disparity between the experiences of individuals from different backgrounds and those of us that are not members of diverse communities must be allies by educating ourselves, and by taking tangible steps to combat inequality where we can.
"Without diversity, equity and inclusion, workplaces would be a poor representation of the society in which they operate, and I firmly believe that we all have a part to play in bringing about long-term, sustainable change and equal opportunity. Young people from diverse backgrounds should be given every chance to be full participants in every echelon of society, and in every professional space."
London managing partner Jasmine Amaria said: "Holly is a credit to the London practice and a true ally to diverse communities. Over the course of the summer, we are not only welcoming the two 10000BlackIntern students but also 10 other excellent young people into Carey Olsen's London office for placements. The opportunities will provide these students with invaluable, dynamic, real life work experience and mentorship. Holly has been the primary coordinator for many of these placements and is absolutely deserving of this recognition."
