Carey Olsen advises startup Clicampo on seed funding round
Carey Olsen's corporate team in the Cayman Islands has advised Brazilian agriculture marketplace Clicampo on its US$7.5 million seed funding round.
Clicampo, which was founded in 2021, is a digital platform that connects Brazilian farmers and food producers with restaurants and retailers, removing the need for intermediaries. Clicampo then manages the demand, relationship and delivery between food producer and end customer as well as providing forecasting and logistic tools to help farmers make decisions about what and when to harvest.
The Carey Olsen team advising Clicampo alongside onshore counsel Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados comprised partner Alistair Russell and associate Emily Cornhill.
Alistair said: "Clicampo is combatting the value chain issue in Brazil by automating the forecasting, selling and buying process in the food industry. Carey Olsen is delighted to support the company in its first venture into funding."
The funding round was led by Valor Capital Group and MAYA Capital, with additional investment from several angel investors. Clicampo will use the investment to enhance its service offering through product and technology developments as well as expanding its staff.
