Carey Olsen's Amelia Tan selected for Singapore Leaders Network fellowship programme

Amelia Tan, counsel in Carey Olsen's Singapore litigation, insolvency, and restructuring team, has been selected to participate in the inaugural Singapore Leaders Network fellowship programme (SGLN Fellowship). This nine-month long initiative, led by the Singapore government, the Singapore Economic Development Board, and supported by the private sector, is designed to advance the careers of Singaporean leaders and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for global leadership roles.

Amelia is one of three lawyers selected for this prestigious and highly competitive programme out of 60 Singaporeans, and she is the only offshore lawyer. Other SGLN Fellows include senior leaders across various industries including banking and finance, renewable energy, oil and gas, logistics and professional services. The programme was officially launched on 23 January 2024, and SGLN Fellows will engage in various components of the Fellowship, including a four-day leadership training module, a mentoring programme, workshops and networking events.

Amelia commented: "I am delighted to be an SGLN fellow and am looking forward to learning, growing and sharing my experiences as one of the first few Singaporean offshore disputes lawyers with this diverse group of exceptional individuals in the corporate sector, as we progress in our international careers."

Amelia has been listed as a Rising Star consecutively for two years by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific in 2023 and 2024.  Her practice includes commercial litigation, with a focus on complex, multi-jurisdictional shareholder litigation, corporate disputes, fraud and asset tracing and cross-border insolvency and restructuring matters.  She is currently co-chair of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), Singapore Network, and is also part of the International Insolvency Institute's (III) highly prestigious and successful NextGen Leadership Program Class XII (2023).
