Carey Olsen partners star in China Business Law Journal's A-List
Carey Olsen Singapore partners Anthony McKenzie and Helen Wang and Hong Kong partner Michael Padarin have been recognised in China Business Law Journal's (CBLJ) 2023-24 A-List of elite private practice lawyers in the Chinese market.
Anthony is consistently recognised as one of the best private practice lawyers advising on China-related business, with this being the fourth consecutive year he has featured on CBLJ's prestigious A-List. Anthony is a specialist in Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Bermuda law and advises on a wide range of offshore corporate, investment funds and finance transactions. In the most recent A-List, he is recognised in the new category, "The Visionaries", which identifies lawyers who hold key management roles in their firms and prominent public positions.
Praised for her "excellent legal knowledge and commercial sense", Helen has extensive experience advising clients on cross-border litigation and handling high value disputes, covering a broad range of sectors including banking and financial services, energy and resources, insurance and high net-worth individuals. Helen has been named in the "Rising Stars" category on the latest A-List.
Michael specialises in the formation, operation and restructuring of offshore private investment funds, with a focus on Cayman Islands, BVI and Bermuda law. He is highly regarded for his broad experience advising emerging managers to global institutional players and is one of the most experienced offshore private equity specialists in the Hong Kong market. Michael is included in "The Growth Drivers" category on the A-List – his third appearance amongst the region's best lawyers, having also been named on the A-List in 2020 and 2021.
Anthony commented: "To feature once again on China Business Law Journal's A-List is a great privilege. At Carey Olsen we pride ourselves on maintaining a high-level of client service and so to be acknowledged by lawyers within China and across the globe for our work is a real honour."
Helen said: "I am thrilled to feature on China Business Law Journal's A-List for the first time. The A-List has recognised a Carey Olsen lawyer across each of its three categories for 2023-24, testament to our robust presence within the Chinese legal market and the breadth of support we offer our clients."
Michael added: "Without the constant support and hard work of our teams across Hong Kong, Singapore, and the wider Carey Olsen group, achieving individual recognition in this way would not be possible. We are grateful to all those who help to uphold Carey Olsen's strong position in China's legal industry."
The A-List is based on the nominations of thousands of in-house counsel and partners in China and around the world, combined with CBLJ's extensive research and analysis of China's legal market.
