Matthew is an associate in the dispute resolution and litigation team at Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited. 

Matthew has a particular focus on all aspects of commercial, insolvency and trust litigation. He assists companies, directors, shareholders, liquidators, administrators, creditors, trustees and beneficiaries in achieving successful outcomes in their commercial and trust disputes. He has particular expertise in the granting of interim relief, including injunctions, freezing orders, preservation orders and Anton Piller orders, and in the enforcement of judgments on both a domestic and cross-border basis. 

Career

Matthew obtained an LLB from the Victoria University of Wellington, along with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2018. 

Prior to joining Carey Olsen Bermuda, Matthew was a senior associate at a leading New Zealand law firm where he practiced general civil litigation, with a focus on commercial and contentious trust disputes. In New Zealand, Matthew has appeared in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, often as junior counsel to leading barristers and King's Counsel.
