Matthew is an associate in the dispute resolution and litigation team at Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited. His practice focuses primarily on litigation and arbitration in the corporate and commercial context.

Matthew has experience litigating a wide variety of business disputes, securing injunctions and other orders protecting his client’s business interests, and conducting internal investigations and due diligence related to bribery, fraud, sanctions compliance, and criminal and regulatory offences. Some of Matthew’s recent experience includes litigating contract, insurance, debt, and civil fraud matters, as well as dealing with Mareva injunctions and Anton Piller Orders.

Career

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2024, Matthew worked as a litigation associate in the Calgary office of one of Canada's largest law firms Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. During that time Matthew completed a secondment as in-house litigation counsel at a large Canadian oil and gas company in Calgary. 

Matthew received his Juris Doctor (with distinction) from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After graduating, Matthew completed a judicial clerkship at the Court of King's Bench in Calgary. Matthew also received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Arts from the University of Western Ontario.
