Professional Support Lawyer (VA316)

Experience: Qualified in Guernsey or a recognised common law jurisdiction such as England and Wales and have a minimum of 6 years' post qualification experience

We have an opportunity for a Professional Support Lawyer to develop, manage and maintain the know-how, knowledge tools and resources and provide knowledge management and legal training support for the Guernsey corporate practice area

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring legal and market developments and keep the lawyers up to date
  • Creating, developing and managing and making easily accessible the department's collection of precedents and encouraging and managing contributions to know-how
  • Helping to organise, design and deliver departmental legal and knowledge training
  • Working with partners and the marketing team to identify relevant topics and support production of client briefings and thought leadership
  • Responding to fee earner queries and research requests
  • Helping progress and develop the knowledge strategy for the department and implementing wider knowledge projects. For example: profiling knowhow collections in preparation for improved search, automated restyling of precedents into updated house style, automating key precedents
  • ​Working with knowledge director and other members of the KM team to shape and progress the knowledge strategy for Guernsey and the wider firm and to pilot and implement new and upgraded systems and ways of working

Applicants will be a corporate / transactional lawyer, qualified in Guernsey or a recognised common law jurisdiction such as England and Wales, and have a minimum of 6 years' post qualification experience in a leading firm.  PSL or knowledge management experience is preferred.​
