Marketing & Business Development Assistant (VA431)

To provide support to marketing team members to ensure the corporate, banking & finance
and investment funds lawyers across the firm achieve their marketing plans, and to provide support to the team for a range of industry events.

Key duties include:

Marketing and Business Development Plans:

  • To support the implementation of specific and agreed initiatives within the corporate
    practice area and marketing and business development (M&BD) teams

Events

  • To support on the planning and organisation of practice area events –organised by
    Carey Olsen and third-party industry organisations, including pre-event planning and
    logistics
  • Draft invitations, reminder campaigns and follow up emails and manage RSVPs
  • Liaise with venues and third-party suppliers as required, attend / provide front of house
    support at CO events as required (such as event registration and hosting)
  • Book delegate places for conference and seminars
  • Create webinars using BigMarker platform and action associated tasks
  • Support on CSR events and local Guernsey events and initiatives
  • To contribute to the annual budgeting process by researching costs and details for specific events

Collateral and website

  • Ensure the corporate lawyers have up to date collateral, particularly for events
  • Format and brand client legal briefings, lawyer profiles and other documents using InDesign
  • Assist in the creation and updating of collateral as necessary

CRM & email marketing campaigns

  • Support the creation of targeted marketing campaigns using the e-marketing system (Vuture) and reporting on results
  • Ensure contact details and activities up to date on our CRM system
  • Generate marketing reports and target lists from the firm's CRM system

General support

  • Processing and checking invoices, arranging payments
  • Manage local stock of branded items and organise courier packages
  • Make updates and edits to the company home page as needed
  • General administration tasks associated with marketing

The ideal candidate will be a Graduate (2.1 or above), however an exceptional A-level or college leaver would be considered.  

Experience required:

  • Experience gained in a financial or professional services marketing team useful but not essential
  • Knowledge of CRM systems beneficial
  • Commitment to undertake CIM qualifications (post probation)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT and technical skills (training on all\ programmes and systems will be given)
  • Effective prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Strong team player
  • Able to work occasional out of hours for events
