Financial Controller (VA329)

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller, to be responsible for the consistent, accurate and timely reporting of financial information and the day to day operational management for the Cayman Islands, BVI and Bermuda.

Main duties include but are not limited to:

Financial Control

  • Preparation of annual financial statements for all Cayman, BVI and Bermuda entities, working closely with the Group Financial Control (FC) team. Heading up the audit process where required, liaising with auditors and the Group FC team
  • Preparation & submission of local regulatory returns
  • Preparation & submission of relevant tax returns
  • Oversight of client monies policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local reporting requirements, in conjunction with the Treasury team
  • Responsibility for bank and balance sheet reconciliations, liaising with the group functions & jurisdictional finance teams as required
  • Responsibility for maintaining the day to day integrity of ledgers including the month end close process
  • Act as one of the authorised signatories for payments
  • Participating or leading system, operational or process changes as required

Operations

  • Responsibility for managing local teams in Cayman, BVI and Bermuda of eight
  • Support all accounting and operational activities in the relevant jurisdictions
  • Managing fee-earner, partner & other staff queries
  • Maintaining relationships with local banks in the Caribbean, in conjunction with the Treasury team
  • Responsibility for cash management and day to day finance administration in the jurisdictions
  • Review of payments set up by the team
  • Assistance with billing as required
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with experience in a similar role in a law firm or professional services organisation, along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (notably Excel) and experience in 3E or similar program.
