Legal Secretary (VA402)

Carey Olsen is looking for a Legal Secretary to join the Litigation team in our Cayman office. If you have the necessary experience, great interpersonal skills and thrive on being busy then we would love to hear from you.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- billing and credit control
- liaising with fee earners and clients
- assisting with conflict checks and file opening procedures
- general administrative and secretarial support
- ·organizing the logistics and all administration associated with business trips and client meetings
- assisting with file management as required
- preparation of general correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of fee earners
- answering telephones and email messages
- maintaining physical and electronic files as well as client databases
The ideal candidates should:
- have experience in a secretarial role, including recent experience in a secretarial role within a litigation team at a law firm
- have experience with electronic document management systems such as iManage, client management systems and Microsoft office applications
- have good writing and proofreading skills and excellent attention to detail
- prior experience in preparing complex and properly formatted documents
- be team oriented with a flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
- have demonstrable experience with court procedures
- be able to work with minimal supervision and be committed to providing a high level of client service
The salary for this position will be based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Other benefits include health insurance coverage, 20 days annual leave, life assurance, income protection insurance and a contributory pension plan.
